I was impacted at Angels on Wheels where I was able to spend some time with a 5 year old who is living at the Lydia House. When asked about her favorite subject, she told me her favorite thing to learn was how to pray.
All the girls from our group went over to the women’s side of Sienna Francis House to sing and pray with the ladies. One woman came up to us and told us that she couldn’t sing because she had lost her voice. We prayed over her for God to restore her voice and when we were done she could talk clearly and sing!
At Hope Skate I got to meet this 7-Year-Old boy. We skated the whole night together and i got to teach him how to skate for his first time. He just filled my heart with joy.
A mother and her son came to the Sienna Francis House while we were there with the Angel’s on Wheels and we helped her find a trash bag full of clothes for her son. He got new boots and so many clothes. I felt like I had helped make a difference and I thank Urban Plunge for allowing me to do that!
At Abide Network they talked about the cycle of hopelessness in this city, which I feel is really true. I was inspired to just continue to pray and declare the Lord’s hope over Omaha because I know he has great things in store.
I think that all the ministries impacted my life in some way. My eyes have been opened up to so many different local ministries and I have realized that sometimes we get wrapped up in our lives without thinking of others. This has really convicted me.
